Retinitis Pigmentosa
Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) encompasses a group of inherited eye conditions, called retinal dystrophies, that progressively affect the back of the eye, leading to permanent vision reduction. The onset, rate of deterioration, and extent of vision loss vary depending on the specific RP type. RP typically manifests with symptoms such as night blindness and peripheral vision loss, gradually leading to tunnel vision. Despite advancements in gene research, there is currently no cure or treatment to halt or slow down RP progression, necessitating lifelong adaptation to diminishing sight levels.
